The Meaning of the Atonement and signs of a reprobate mind

In The meaning of the Atonement, the Sacrifice, In the Old Testament book of Hebrews, the term is used three times in different places. From the first passage, it is described as the offering of the law as a sacrifice for the sin of the Israelites.

In the New Testament, it is described as the death of Jesus on the cross as an atoning sacrifice for all. And in the next passage, The meaning of the Atonement is described as God’s provision to undo the sin of all people through Jesus to take their souls back.

The Meaning of the Atonement – Going deeper

All three explanations make sense and may be implemented in different situations. However, I want to concentrate on the first description of the sacrifice of the law as a sacrifice. What is a sacrifice?

The Meaning of the AtonementWhat is a sacrifice?

Sacrifice is a type of activity that has the effect of eliminating something undesirable from an individual. Whether that is something undesirable that caused said individual to collapse from the signs of a reprobate mind.

Or to hurt themselves, or perhaps do something that caused physical pain to another individual that would prevent that person from doing exactly what they might otherwise have been doing.

Now, the meaning of the atonement is much more specific than simply saying that God made the sacrifice for our sin. The meaning of the atonement is a constant action. It’s not something that happens once and then God is done with that. It’s ongoing. And thus the question remains, what’s the signs of a reprobate mind?

The Meaning of the Atonement – Moral lack

To answer that question, we need to go deeper into the significance of the meaning of the atonement itself. What are the signs of the reprobate mind? Well, according to the dictionary, it’s” that of an individual lacking moral mental abilities.

Someone who borders on the insane. Sounds about perfect, right? Somebody who’s experiencing a mental, moral and spiritual decay is clearly not somebody who can think logically. And someone who is mentally unbalanced is obviously someone we would probably not be able to consider at all.

The Meaning of the Atonement – Unbridled faith trumps the signs of a reprobate mind

So let us get more specific. What’s the meaning of the atonement for a Christian believer? When a Christian believer makes a sacrifice for their faith, they are committing to obey God rather than man. To be completely receptive to God, and to give all they have in order to meet God. This means they will give up everything, no matter what it requires.

Can the signs of a reprobate mind be reversed?

Now, this sacrifice isn’t always voluntary. A person might be forced to make such a sacrifice by the situation, and God may also force a Christian to make a sacrifice to save a loved one. But at the same time, the meaning of the Atonement is a free will to behave. It isn’t something that could be forced.

The meaning of the atonement is voluntary since the believer has the absolute liberty to devote themselves to the sacrifice and receive what God has for them after they have been cleansed. They aren’t under any duty to make this sacrifice. It is something which they choose to do.

Stigma effect, the meaning of the atonement and signs of a reprobate mind

This answers the question can a reprobate mind be reversed? The answer is yes if one surrenders him or herself to body mind and soul in faith. The significance of this atonement is also associated with the fact that there is something after our salvation. If we believe that our salvation is free, then we do not need to make a sacrifice. We do not need to go to jail or endure. We don’t need to think about being torn limb from limb.

There is just one sacrifice that we have to create, and that is to believe. It is the only sacrifice that saves you from eternal pain and torment. I know that some people find that quite difficult to believe, but in case you genuinely believe that the atonement is for you, then you will not ever need to suffer again. The significance of the atonement can be your lifeline to your liberty.

The Meaning of the Atonement and Signs of a reprobate mind

Consider once again the case of our guest Decaress Smith. Decaress Smith is a man that has spent over 25 years behind bars for his former criminal activity. And over 20 of those years he spent in federal lockup. He has witnessed firsthand the lowest depths of the signs of a reprobate mind.

What is a reprobate mind

He has seen men brutally fighting over workout equipment. Likewise, he has seen men being bludgeoned with makeshift weaponry. He has seen men being raped and rampant homosexuality behind bars. He has seen brutal confrontations between rival gangs.

Not only that, but he himself has had a long career in criminal activity. And this activity included over 900 burglaries. So is Decaress Smith still showing signs of a reprobate mind? Is he still capable of returning to the life of crime he once lived? He came out of prison with a heavy felony record.

The Meaning of the Atonement and Deviant behavior examples

Most companies he went to seek employment at would not give him a second chance because of that felony record. To such people, as this, he still shows signs of a reprobate mind. To these companies and people, the meaning of the atonement is something he is incapable of accomplishing.

To society at large, he will always be capable of the type of deviant behavior examples that society has long been riddled with. However, the problem with deviant behavior examples like this is that those who often judge you are those who spend many years committing their own heinous acts while making all kinds of excuses to justify their own deviant behavior examples.

And he carries the stigma of an unacceptable man no matter what he does to make atonement for his past actions. This is the true definition of systemic racism. A system designed to force you into a life of crime by denying you access to basic human rights resources.

And that denial becomes exacerbated with a felony record. For most black people once they commit a felony even if it’s a mild nonviolent felony, you become stigmatized, untrusted, unworthy, and most of all unacceptable in society no matter how much you try to reform.

You will be stuck in permanent defensive mode. Forever trying to prove to people in the population at large that you are no longer the person that you used to be. You will be held in permanent contempt, and forever looked upon as a person with a dark cloud over you.
