Celebrity mug shots Black, Criminal, And Proud
Many people are confused when they look at celebrity mug shots of celebrities. Is it because they share a commonality, which is that they were all taken into custody by the police? Celebrities may be issued a variety of Celebrity mug shots when they are arrested.
Some are funny, some are crazed, and others are accidents caused by driving. There are many celebrity mug shots. There are millions of mugshot types and there are also mugshots that look like the police mugshot, but they are not.
Celebrity mug shots The line up
The following profiles showcase celebrities from various careers in acting and athletics. Professional actors and athletes addicted to drugs, driving under the influence, and engaging in illegal activity, hostile and nonviolent.
However, the video above in this post is about Decaress Smith. A person who was not nor was he ever was a celebrity. I put him in this post to show how even ordinary everyday people who turn from their former lives of crime become in their own way celebrities themselves. I decided to save his Celebrity mug shots for the last entry of this post.
The Celebrity mug shots of the 14-time major winner, Tiger Woods. Tiger was recovering from a fourth back operation. He had five different drugs in his system when he was arrested for a DUI. Tiger Woods is one of the greatest golfers of all time. Woods pleaded guilty to reckless driving and agreed to enter a rehab program that eventually wiped his record clean.
However, I must admit, watching Tiger Woods’s sterling career over the years come crashing down all around him from his extramarital affairs left me scratching my head. How could someone of his caliber allow himself to fall so far?
His life is proof positive that no matter the celebrity status, no one is perfect. And that wealth will not protect you from your fall. I’ll never forget his fist-pumping antics at the beginning of his career, combined with his roaring shouts of triumph in tournament after tournament, which he won over and over again.
And to this day I wonder if he was ever aware that his winning ways were not only something that America celebrated. It was another notch in the long history of African-American athlete’s stellar performances of unmatched winning excellence. Oh, how the mighty have fallen!
Celebrity mug shots Jay Z
Beyoncé’s husband, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, was arrested in New York City for allegedly stabbing a record producer. A former drug dealer turned hip-hop mogul, Jay-Z is no stranger to a life of crime. He simply turned his life into an opportunity to build a successful music career. His knowledge of brand awareness allowed him to successfully build and run high-profile businesses that brought him to billionaire status.
His net worth jumped from $1 billion to $1.4 billion just two weeks after deals to sell his streaming service Tidal and 50% of his Champagne company Ace of Spades also known as Armand de Brignac to continue building his business portfolio.
His other assets include
- Roc Nation ($140 million)
- Armand de Brignac ($320 million)
- D’Usse cognac ($120 million),
- royalties from his music ($95 million),
- art collection ($70 million),
- real estate ventures he shares with his wife Beyoncé ($50 million)
- Ethos — an insurance company and
- Sweetgreen salad chain ($425 million)
And ladies and gentlemen, he’s just getting started! But to be perfectly honest, I’m really not surprised at Jay-Z’s success. I knew this success would come in the form of the growing number of black billionaires in America.
And I knew this day would come when I read the book by one of the first black billionaires in America by the name of Reginald Lewis. And the name of his book is “Why should white guys have all the fun?”
I knew this day would come because Reginald Lewis was the beginning of people like Robert Johnson of BET, and Michael Jordan, owner of the Charlotte bobcats. Also, people like Robert Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Kanye West, Tyler Perry, and Akon just to name a few.
If Reginald Lewis was the start of all these black billionaires in America today, then who shall all of these black billionaires I just mentioned bring forth in the next 10 to 20 years?
Celebrity mug shots Curtis “50 cent” Jackson
Curtis Jackson was born in Queens, New York and was A crack cocaine drug dealer. He began boxing at about age 11, in a neighborhood boxing gym for local youth. He was also competitive in hip-hop music as well.
At age 12, he began dealing narcotics and brought weaponry and drug money to school. He was foolishly caught by metal detectors and embarrassed himself in the aftermath. He was arrested for selling cocaine to an undercover police officer, then arrested again three weeks later, when police searched his home.
The search uncovered heroin, crack cocaine, and a pistol. He was sentenced to nine years in prison, but he only ended up serving six months. There he earned his GED and vowed never to return to prison. It was during this time that he adopted the nickname “50 Cent” as a metaphor for change in his life. This name he chose for himself was inspired the Celebrity mug shots of Kelvin Martin, a 1980s Brooklyn robber who was also known as 50 Cent.
Celebrity mug shots Coolio
Artis Leon Ivey Jr. also known as Coolio, is an American rapper, singer, record producer, and actor. He achieved mainstream success with his albums It Takes A Thief and Gangstas paradise. He has moved on to release more albums and become a chef, creating a web series called Cookin’ with Coolio.
A 1998 court hearing in Stuttgart Germany sentenced Coolio to six months probation and a $17,000 fine after being convicted of being an accessory to robbery and assault. In September 2016, Coolio and his team were arrested with a loaded pistol in a book bag at Los Angeles International Airport.
The bag was intercepted by airport security TSA. In October 2016, an L.A. court put Coolio on 3-year probation and ordered him to serve 45 days of community service. In September 2017, Coolio was denied entry into Singapore.
When asked about the denial of entry, Singapore’s ICA security declined to comment on the reason behind the denial, choosing confidentiality instead. He was on his way to Singapore to perform at a Formula One concert.
This doesn’t surprise me. China is already known for being a racist country against black people. Though I can’t say for certain that racism had anything to do with his denial of entry into Singapore. But I will say that I wouldn’t be surprised if it did.
Celebrity mug shots and the curious case of Decaress Smith
Actresses and Athletes aren’t the only ones to run under the law when they are caught driving under the influence of alcohol or caught with drugs. Police are more often targeting athletes and celebrities when they try to find ways to detain those who are drunk or engaging in disorderly behavior.
This brings me to my final entry, Decaress Smith. Now, the Decaress Smith is not a rapper like Curtis 50 cent Jackson or Jay-Z. He’s not a professional athlete like Tiger Woods. He doesn’t have the appeal of these celebrities, and he certainly doesn’t have their earning potential. So why include him in this post?
Well, it’s quite simple, really. I included him in this post because his story is just as impressive as theirs. And in my honest opinion, what makes his story even more impressive is the life of crime that he left behind.
Coolio was sentenced to probation and had to pay a $17,000 fine. Jay-Z was found guilty of bludgeoning a man with a knife. Curtis 50 Cent Jackson was shot multiple times and spent six months of a nine-year sentence behind bars.
But it was Decaress Smith who came from more than 25 years behind bars, and a life of many years of crime which included over 900 burglaries. Now, Just stop and think about that for a moment.
It’s one thing to endure what these celebrities in this post have been through. It’s another thing altogether to survive a life of crime which included over 900 burglaries and over 25 years in a federal penitentiary.
That is why I consider Decaress Smith’s profile to be the most impressive in this lineup. Not to mention what he endured when he was behind bars all those years. And that includes several attempts on his life.
Nobody knows when their number is up. But in all honesty, when you match these profiles up it is truly a miracle to see that Decaress Smiths has survived till this day to share his story on The Hustlers Corner NYC.
